Your middle school child typically comes to us at age 10 in 5th grade and leaves middle school at age 14, and they are rarely the same person after these four years of physical, socio-emotional, and academic development. In our small school environment, teachers work closely together to provide each student with opportunities to engage and grow in academics, arts, and athletics; at the end of these four years, your child will have gained many important skills.
One of the most important determiners of success during these pivotal years is embracing a growth mindset*, one that acknowledges failure and then looks for ways to adapt to find new pathways to success. These paths are often crooked and full of obstacles but as we provide our students with new opportunities, they gain many tools to surmount challenges and to grow in maturity. They never cease to amaze us!
We look forward to joining your child on this exciting journey!
